CHILE BORDER OPEN TO NON-RESIDENTS

Dec 11, 2021

The Chile border is now fully open to travelers with valid PCR tests taken inside 72 hours of traveling.

After months of total border closure, a curve that has flattened since August led the Chilean government to lift its travel-ban for non-residents entering the country on November 23, 2020, and since December 7 has been permitting all travelers with a valid negative PCR result taken inside 72 hours of traveling, along with a ‘health passport’ that can be obtained in a few minutes online at the government-run website c19.cl

Get in touch if you want to know more about the entry requirements, and for details on inter-regional travel for cast and crew on your production.

Pudu’s domestic crew have been busy filming around Chile on various projects; we are now very well-informed on all the processes and admin required to travel safely and securely within the country, and to neighboring territories like Argentina, Peru and Bolivia.

Here are some shots from our latest production down in deepest Patagonia, for a major international TV series, using our all-Chilean crew and working remotely with the London-based production company that creates the series.

Brining experience gained on prime-time productions for broadcasters in the US and Europe, Liam Miller directed this TV episode, working alongside Jorge González AAC as Director of Photography, Alex Miranda on second camera and Lucas Hourton as the team’s licensed drone op. Due to the high winds in this remote and extreme location, our pilot Lucas used a heavier Inspire 2 for more stability.

If you need to shoot TV, docs, TVCs or branded in Chile, or anywhere in the Latin America region, Pudu can support you either by providing a full crew at location who can work with you remotely in development, budgeting, story boarding and production planning before we head out on location, or otherwise support your core crew coming in from abroad with local film fixers, technicians, producers and support staff.

We operate under strict COVID-19 guidelines set out by the UK’s First Action Safety Group.
