GREEN LIGHT FOR FOREIGN PRODUCTIONS IN CHILE

Oct 12, 2021

Excellent news for crews, PMs and producers who want to take their film production to Chile…

As of November 1, 2021, non-residents arriving in Chile, who have completed their full vaccination program, will be able to leave mandatory quarantine after approximately 24 hours with a negative PCR test.

Previously, arrivals had to isolate for 10 days at a quarantine hotel, but the rules were relaxed on October 1, reducing the quarantine down to just five days at any chosen address.

Now a further lifting on restrictions means that from November 1, your crew will be able to leave their chosen quarantine location – which can be any address of choice – as soon as the results come in from the mandatory PCR test taken on arrival, which takes approximately 24 hours.

It’s important to note that visitors still need to have their vaccines validated via Chile’s government-administered website www.mevacuno.cl prior to travelling. This administrative step is mandatory and takes about two weeks. The Ministry of Health advises against booking flights before you receive the vaccine certificate via this process.

The rest of the measures implemented by Chile’s Protected Borders plan remain unchanged. See our previous post for a simple step-by-step guide on these processes, and for other details on travel requirements for Chile.
