Since the start of the pandemic, we’ve already been out shooting for several international clients, who recognized the high level of talented local media and film professionals Pudu can provide, right here in Chile.
We’ve been assembling local teams with international experience, who know how to deliver doc, tv, commercial and news material with high production-values. By maintaining a high level of communication throughout the production, we’ve helped our overseas clients to develop and storyboard productions, contributed our knowledge towards drawing up highly-detailed shooting briefs, and utilized Zoom, Whatsapp, FaceTime and regular calls to keep everyone in the loop and be reactive to changing production needs across the entire process. Communication has helped us to overcome restrictions around travel and access, making sure our client production companies, commissioners and news broadcasters get the exact audio-visual material they need from their shoot in Chile, whether it’s during development, on the ground shooting, or helping in post-production.
We’ve already worked in this way with a UK production company on a new Discovery Science series where we assembled a local director, DoP, second camera and Drone-op crew, we’ve produced a news segment for BBC World News where we directed self-shooting contributors filming remotely, and developed and shot in-depth TV news features for NOS Journal, the Netherland’s principal public news channel.
The pandemic currently has a considerable grip on Chile, with all major cities on lockdown at the time of writing, including capital city Santiago. The coming weeks are looking increasingly bright, following a consistent 24-day improvement in official government figures as numbers on newly-reported cases continually drop, resulting in some of the less-affected regions to begin reopening cafes, bars, restaurants, theaters and cinemas.
Chile can be a bureaucratic country with plenty of form-filling and paperwork around shooting (don’t worry, we’ll will take care of that for you), especially for public places, but fortunately having these administrative structures in place also means that there is usually a way to get it done with confidence.
The Pudu team work closely with the chilean national and local governing bodies to get necessary permits in place, which function even with the new restrictions brought about by the global pandemic. This means we can usually also travel distance to your shooting location, depending on the region and its individual rules around coronavirus, which are being continually updated.

Stay safe everyone!
